Random updates and welcome to ‘09.
Unfortunately, Tank didn't work out as a foster here - he and Elka got into a fight. I'd seen some worrisome signs from him and was trying to keep things toned down and calm but i failed to avoid the fight altogether. I managed to get Tank back to his previous foster home right before the major snow storms hit. He's an awesome dog, just for some reason not very good when chasing (this is when the fight starts).
Chris' visit is going well, we've cooked some, saw Marley & Me, and just spent time together. Been good.
I got my television and soundbar mounted, pictures of that coming soon.
It snowed again last night, nothing like the previous storms, though. Oh, I have new tyres on my car and it's much, much happier to drive in all conditions now.
Today I am exhausted, was up every 10 minutes last night and finally fell asleep around 7am and woke to the alarm at 8. Ugh.

Getting my first foster from Golden Bond.
My desire to foster was delayed by Elka's wart problems; however over a month ago her warts were gone and haven't gone back. I went back on the active foster list. Today I got a call about a golden mix named Tank that needs a foster home. I pick him up tomorrow morning in Milwaukee, so a bit of a drive, probably 35-40 minutes? Not terrible. Elka will remain home during that time as the thought of doing an introduction during a 40 minute drive just is a bad all around idea.
Tank is 6 years old and sounds pretty interesting. I'm looking forward to trying this out; my first foster. There are lots of places this could go bad, but many more they could go good. So we'll see.

Christmas is approaching…
Mom visited for 10 days; it was a bit stressful, but it was also a good visit.
Been playing Wrath of the Lich King. Hoping to see some new content soon; we're only doing 10 mans, but honestly, that content is pretty much exhausted at this point and the expansion hasn't been out long. A bit of a disappointment, though I've enjoyed the expansion overall.
Elka got stung by something while mom was here; some Benadryl later and all was well. Her warts are gone and she has returned to playcare. She's a much happier dog now; I've let Golden Bond know that we are once again able to welcome in a foster.
Chris and I are currently planning a nice long visit - I'm personally hoping for a month or a bit more, through January. It depends if he can work out his work schedule around it; neither of us are taking time off work for this visit.
What else? I've had the backyard fully landscaped and it's stunning; the siding and windows are done, and I've moved on to getting quotes on painting the interior, as well as moving forward with the master bathroom.
The last item, after paint, is window treatments. Especially in the bedrooms.
Once those things are done I'll feel more able to sit back and enjoy home even more.
Have I mentioned I love my house?
