Yet another new laptop!

So, the crunch and whirrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr jet sounds were continuing in the HDD of the 700m. Consensus by myself and Best Buy was that the HDD was on the way out. 1-2 weeks to replace it all, plus a few hundred dollars. I didn't have the time to wait what with the semester going - I couldn't even really afford to wait a day. So, I went to CompUSA and procured a new ultraportable: Sony Vaio VGN-XN25N. This is 2.8lbs, including the battery, and rated at 4-10 hour battery life. It's paper thin and about the same weight. Absolutely amazing computer - not nearly as hefty in the performance department, but I really wanted portability over performance. This thing is beautiful, high enough performance for what I need it for - heck, beyond the specs that I actually need, and just amazing.

So far, I am absolutely in love with this computer. I'm getting everything installed and stuff. And I love Vista, BTW. Very sleek.

That is one sexy little laptop. Looking at the specs though, I’m guessing all your gaming is on the desktop?

May the force be with ya’ll.

Oh yes, the gaming machine is actually a laptop (though I have an unused desktop here as well) - a Dell e1705.  Pretty nice machine and handles the game I play quite well.  I just recently obtained a 22” monitor for it, and use a g15 keyboard with the actual laptop on its side with an extra fan.  It’s a great setup.

Ultraportables are not suitable for gaming - I can’t imagine playing WoW on an 11” screen, nevermind the 1.3ghz core solo ;)

But I’m sure there’s something in a shade of grey…
Something in between…
