Today was a longish day at the gym, but a great day. I did 30 minutes on the recumbent (I think I prefer the elliptical, actually), and as I was walking out I noticed that the basketball court was free; so I headed in there and was shooting hoops when one of the staff came in and offered to help with returns so I could practice more efficiently. He and I chatted and he helped me improve my shot . . .
Sidebar: Tiayr thinks he can beat me at Around the World; he has another thing coming (hi, Tiayr!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! <3)
.... I liked him quite a lot so made an appointment with him for my fitness assessment, which I'll have Wednesday at 3:30. It's free, and they'll do it monthly for free, which rocks. It's totally worth doing. I did get an appointment with the dietitian for the same day, and didn't realize it, so I'm going to re-schedule that (Scott, the trainer at the gym, was busy; the dietitian had more open appointments, so...). But by the end of the week I should know my fitness level (extremely poor) and have a diet plan going forward.
Today I was driving home from Fred Meyer after doing some grocery shopping and I caught sight of a sign "something piercing". I did a quick, legal turn-around and went in. This place is the elysium of piercing. They even have a water feature. They also have an amazing portfolio, some of the friendliest people I've ever met (they even told me I should just come 'hang out' with them!) and some of the most gorgeous hand-made and large gauge jewelry I have ever seen. I intend to go back tomorrow to buy some jewelry for a stretch, which'll include the free stretch.
I could seriously, without even thinking about it, spend thousands in that store; and all sorts of time. I could live there, really. It was so great to find that here; it really re-invigorated how I feel about this location.
All in all today was a really awesome day. I think tomorrow I'll do the elliptical again, or maybe see how much DDR gets my heart-rate up, if I don't feel like actually going out.
It's 3am, it's time to go lay awake in bed. Ahh, exercise is meant to help get rid of insomnia, why isn't it working??
It’s really more of an issue of knowing without any doubt that i’m going to destroy you in Around the World more than just merely thinking it:-) Keep up the training thou, eventually you’ll get a rematch after you lose:-)
Who won last time, eh? *nods* I’ll repeat the performance, no problem. ;)
But I’m sure there’s something in a shade of grey…
Something in between…
Thanks, Anji! I’m trying; I’m definitely doing better than I was before. =)
