The first week/end.

This past weekend marked my first full weekend here in Oregon and in my new apartment. It was a great weekend. Spent both Saturday and Sunday hanging out with C and W, shopping, playing Wii, going to meals. It was great, and utterly exhausting, and my feet really hurt, and I really want a new iMac. But the weekend just sped past, and it was amazing.

This past week saw me get a new dining room table - a 6-seater. I got a shredder today as well as clearing up last bills from Noho; and I also got my Bank of America stuff moved over here. This week I'll head to the DMV and take the test for my Oregon license - just a computerized test, no driving test needed. That has to be done within 30 days of my getting my Prius, so I'll get it over with this week hopefully.

The movers are saying my stuff'll be here Thursday which would rock, and dad will be arriving Friday evening around 9:30 and staying until Monday noon-ish. He's going to help me get everything in place as well as help get a surround sound system set up here, and of course just see some of the area I now live in.

C, W, and myself are considering a trip out to the coast in two weeks - only about an hour away, and probably only a day trip (mostly due to Mali's needs, though I think we can get away with an overnight if so desired). It'll be great to take that road-trip, get away, and just have some fun. I am looking forward to walking on a beach again, and seeing the ocean.

There was also an airshow this weekend, and jets were right overhead, it was really an amazing sight to behold.

So far I am really loving it out here. Good friends, amazing weather, a gorgeous apartment, and just this leisurely pace of living that feels so refreshing compared to working + Smith.

I feel happier than I have since I started at Smith. My job seems to be going wonderfully, my living arrangements are just amazing, and I have terrific friends.

Good times are finally here.
