With the updates to the Macbook line last night, my decision has been to go forward with getting a Macbook, as opposed to a MacbookPro or Mac Pro.
There are a lot of reasons for this.
Ultimately, the Macbook does everything I need and is a completely viable replacement for both my 11" Sony Vaio (if only the Macbook was a pound or two lighter...), as well as the ailing G4.
This is ultimately just the right machine for me. I don't do anything that needs the better graphics of the MBP, I hate the case on it (I know this from owning a G4, eh?), and it's just bigger and bulkier; and way, way more expensive.
Hopefully I'll have my Macbook in the next fortnight. I could have bought it directly from the store; but they did not have a 250gig config available.
Yes but MacbookPro’s are oh so seexy, nice and smooooth, and shiney. I love my MBP. Albeit an expensive Mp3 player :(
(hate it when reality hits)
so off you go, go and tell the world about your 4gig RAM, lighter, 1000 less expensive MacBook, while the rest of us sit here and wish we had been that little bit more patient….. :(....
*grins*
I had a Powerbook G4, which is what I’m upgrading from; the palm-rests are black and pitted from use, and it’s dented from many falls.
The Macbook is also said to be more resilient; and I actually prefer the look to the MBP, so… =)
My patience did work out; but come Macworld, if there are any new announcements, then we can all be sad about lack of patience. ;)
But I’m sure there’s something in a shade of grey…
Something in between…
