I thought the recipe was:

A willing companion
A nice beach (being from California, this is a little easier, though getting the temperature right is a bit tricky).
Towel (to keep the sand off)
A bottle of champagne (or other preferred libation) (optional)
Grapes (optional)
Cheese (optional)

Lay down the towel on a nice spot of beach.  The ideal spot will be warm, secluded, and not too windy or wet.
Pour champagne into glass
Toast your companion and optionally feed him/her grapes and/or cheese
Do what comes naturally

Note: Some companions will need a cool-down step of cuddling or being held
