Saving cat fur for clothing?

Many years ago I remember hearing about people saving their dog's fur for clothing. This was when I was in Australia.

Yesterday I bought a Furminator and I have gotten a huge amount of fur off Kayne and Mali. And it triggered that memory. I have begun researching this and found that there are companies thaty ou can send the fur to and they will spin it and make stuff for you.

This thread and this unfortunately garish site VIP Fibers have given me a lot of information to start this quest. I'm not sure I'l start saving now with the move, but more than likely immediately after (only a month away) Mali doesn't shed as much as Kayne, but Kayne sheds a ton and they love each other. I intend to keep their fur separate but send it together to VIP Fibers, or if I find another store, I'll choose one, and see what I can have made. I think a blanket would be great, but really want a shawl or scarf - something I can wear when going out.

I really love this idea, and I can't wait to see it realized.
