Movers booked. Flights booked.
Today I had an in-home estimate, and I booked the movers. Guaranteeed pick-up date: August 3rd.
The flights are booked for the morning of August 4th.
In less than a month I will be in my new apartment in Oregon.
Major things left to do:
- Buy a car, which means test-driving some cars and then doing purchasing in advance so I can pick it up when I arrive in Oregon and avoid renting a car.
- Locate a vet.
- Ship a few things out to C & W so that I have them upon arrival.
Things are finally coming together.

If you buy a brand new car, keep in mind it’s generally advised to refrain from long-distance trips until you’ve put a couple hundred miles on it locally. Of course, it’s been a long time since I’ve had a new car, but might want to think about that as you look around for a car :-)
Hey, thank you Bill. I will do that - I don’t intend to travel (and can’t because of the cat) for awhile; but I definitely need a car hehe.
I didn’t know about that recommendation though so I will definitely try to do that. Thank you!
