More updates…

I'm still waiting on the bank to review some final bank statements, and hopefully everything will come together. There's no way I'll be able to go to signing this weekend, I think - it would take a miracle. But Monday may not be out of the question. I doubt I'll get moved before Austin - I'm not sure it's worth the stress it would take, as I'd probably only have the keys Wednesday or Thursday. However, I may.

I did get HOA approval on the new roof, so I can go forward with that the moment I have the keys. There's a one-day lead time for my contractor as they have three crews. If I were able to get the keys ... even Wednesday, I could have the roof changed and move Thursday. Then wake up Friday morning and leave for SXSW. Is it worth doing that? I'm not sure. But it's possible. I may be better off just moving when I return on Monday or Tuesday. That would mean get Mali and Kayne fed and relaxed here, then putting them into a whole new stressful situation the next day - but with full stomachs. In some ways I'd prefer to just pick them up from the vet and bring them straight to the house. They adjusted quickly last move, so that might not be so bad.

But it's all pie in the sky right now. I have to wait to get the keys for anything to happen. What I do know is that I'm going to be packing like crazy this weekend so that I'm ready to go at a moment's notice. Do I want to be in the new house that badly? Oh yes I do.

I'm also really looking forward to SXSW. March has some good times coming up. The weekend after SXSW I'm hoping to be settled in enough to hit the shelters and see what dogs are available. I have contacted some breeders about some of the purebreds I'm interested in, but I'm not interested in the most common breeds - so I think a shelter, where I can rescue a beautiful, young, mix-breed may be the better option.

There's a lot of potential in my future - a lot of change, and a lot of excitement. I can't wait to get on with it.
