Mali started vomiting this morning, last night her appetite was down and this morning she ate less than an ounce where she had been eating a full 3 ounces at every meal.
She's back on all of her meds, and Dr. Huff is going to call me later to discuss it.
The meds she came off of were for infection and liver support; if Mali's liver is bad it's a lot more dire than her kidneys. She is clearly able to be medically supported via medication, but this is a really bad sign. It means that we can't get her on Azodyl, for one thing, which she needs for her kidneys.
We'll see what Dr. Huff has to say. Maybe we can try to get her off Metronidazole or Ursodiol, and see how just weaning her off one goes.
This was looking really good the first 2-3 days, too.
I'm pretty distressed and sad about this; it was lovely being done with Mali's meds by 2pm - the two meds she was on need to be given in the evening, so back to 3x a day medicating, not to mention that my poor baby is sick and she's going to be on this stuff forever, I think.
And forever probably isn't going to be a long time, which is the saddest part of all.
Honey, I’m really sorry that she’s not being receptive to a non-medicated life. :( I was hoping she would do so much better - she seemed to do so well on the trip; it all seemed better. :( (((((((((Hugs))))))))
You’re in my thoughts....
