Life updates.

So, a few things.

I didn't have a default category set on this weblog, dammit.

I recently transferred servers, leaving the people I had basically started WoW to play with - other than Chris (who also transferred). A few reasons for this.

The guild we were going to had better raid times in that raids end by midnight EST. Ending by midnight rather than 1am is a huge difference, really.

The server is a PVE server. We were on a PVP server and while I think Chris used to like that, I always abhorred the idea. I've grown up gaming and MUDing, I'm familar with the concept of PK, both lawful and chaotic. I used to play only Godwars muds just for the PK but I always had a non-PK home to go to. Why? I prefer the player vs. environment aspect because human beings are childish. Give them the ability to cause another player problems and they'll do this for hours on end and then think they're cool. This is the equivalent of a 13 year old bully on a playground.

Playing without immature pricks constantly infringing on me PVE experience is a welcome relief. The game is a million times more fun for me now. I get things done in the playtime I have.

... and in real life, it's midterm crunch. I have two papers (re-writes) due this week - one Thursday, one Friday. Next week is a blessed week of rest.

Friday I can start wearing contacts again, thank goodness. I have my regular checkup Tuesday at 3pm, too. All the nice female stuff, and probably scheduling my first mammogram. O the joys of boobs.

I've had two job offers in the last two weeks, people wanting me to consult on ExpressionEngine sites and to be their personal mentors. I turned both down. I was playing with an idea of offering paid mentoring, and I'm not going into the details as I may indeed offer this service in the future. Lord knows I'd have enough business coming in, but I haven't the time right now. ExpressionEngine keeps me busy enough, especially lately with the re-branding to EllisLab and the subsequent 4 sites coming together and a beautiful redesign.

So, life has been busy and fruitful. More updates later, perhaps.
