... laptops.
The 700m is busted, it's making this loud crunching/jet noise. Both Best Buy and CompUSA have at least 1-2 week turnarounds on diagnostics/repairs (I am 99% sure it's the HDD), so I'm going to purchase a new computer.
Why, oh why, do laptops hate me? This is the 3rd one since being at Smith, they seem to have a life of about a year for me. This couldn't wait two months?!?!?!
Well, I just became a Mac guy, and while I don’t pretend they’re perfect, I do have to say that I’ve been really, really happy so far.
My new baby once is soon going to be a totally sweet Lenovo Tablet. Multitouch, baby!

I removed the edit button because I was having an offday and couldn’t get the plugin to work, so couldn’t restrict how long people were allowed to edit it. Those are nice, Johnathan - what is the weight and battery life?
Derek—I’ve tried that, my Powerbook was laptop #1 - HDD failed after a year and AppleCare was claimed to be voided. I’ve gone progressively lighter since, and if Mac had a 2.8lb laptop, I’da gone with that. =)
But I’m sure there’s something in a shade of grey…

They weigh in at a hefty 3.8lb and have up to 7.5 hours battery life. That’s with the extended battery, but they’re throwing that in for free right now. If I get a big promotion that I’m shooting for right now, that’s going to be my congrats gift to myself (c:

How much weight does the extended battery add? Usually those weights are done pre-extended battery.
And that is heavier than my new one, so neener. ;)
Grats on the new compy though, it’s so exciting!
