So the flight yesterday went decently, though it took them about 45 minutes to get off the runway so we were a bit late arriving. It was over-sold, and with the cats under out legs, there was no legroom. It was extraordinarily uncomfortable.
They did let me go to their offices to remove Mali and Kayne so that their carriers could be scanned, and that all went fine; no 10 day health certificate was needed though I had one for each cat.
Chris and Wendy picked us up, we went through about a 40 page lease - I've never seen so many riders in my life. It was ridiculous - I tried to read everything, but it was being read to me. Given the length of the lease I can see why they don't send it out but at the same time am wondering why, because with that document I would have preferred to have had time to sit down and read through it.
The leasing manager, however, wasn't there so I couldn't get the lease officially signed, though I was allowed to move in of course. But that meant it wasn't legal and not of use to Toyota, so I could not go get my Prius yesterday. :( The manager will be there today at noon, so I'll go get the lease and Chris and Wendy will take us to Toyota.
Spent about $500 on "stuff" yesterday - bed sheets, blankets, pillows, toiletries, etc - they all add up rather quickly. I did get a very comfortable dial-turn air-mattress that takes all of 90 seconds to fill up. I still need to do a bunch of shopping after I get the car. Chris and Wendy joined us for dinner which was delicious as well.
Annnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnd - guess what? Mali ATE Mali ATE Mali ATE.
So did Kayne, but we knew that, eh?
Actually, Mali is almost totally adjusted to this place, out and about, walking, owning. Kayne is ... not so much. He's hiding on a kitchen cupboard right now, but has been hiding behind bags or in things. He'll calm down but he's not nearly as used to change as Mali is with how often she goes to the vet, etc. Still, they're both eating - they both know where the litter-box is, and both have drank.
Also, this morning, I took the most luxuriously wonderful bath in this 40 gallon roman tub. It was f'ing brilliant.
A few of you have called to see how things are going, so thank you and hugs to all. I'll try to get some pictures posted later, too.
Oh, and my new Television (65" rear projection) comes tomorrow between 8:30 and 10:30am. Whee!
More to do, gots to jets.
