So, when I finish at Smith, should I continue on with my education by going to some Graduate School, or should I pursue work for a change of pace?
Comments welcome. I hate life-altering decisions.
I think you should go to Graduate School. You seem to enjoy school usually and finishing graduate school should allow you to get a better job when you’re ready to enter the work force. If you decide to join the work force now you may not ever get the chance to go back and do graduate school as well.
I say grad school, too… After all, you can’t go far without a Master’s anymore anyway.
Sadness whispers her condolences; for the greatest tragedy of all is love lost.
But the greatest virtue belongs to those who will give everything to love again…
It is a test.
I put work, just because it looked lonely without any votes. Do whatever makes you happy (c:
May the force be with ya’ll.
I find this a curious question, because I struggled… struggle… with this myself.
When I graduated, I’d had the brilliant idea that I would work for “a couple of years” to get some perspective in my industry (software), and then go back for my advanced degree.
Well… here I am 15 years later and still haven’t gone back. I haven’t regretted the decision; in fact, I’ve learned much more in my chosen profession through work than I ever did in school, but I do miss the academic thought process some time, and the ability to just think about stuff because… well, just because.
You’ve had some time off already, so perhaps the choice is a little different for you. At any rate, I wouldn’t go straight into school. Maybe some time spent traveling abroad, if you can afford the time and money, or work, or working on some great personal project of yours. Note to sound too depressing, but you’ll never again have the kind of opportunity to just sit back and reflect on the future ahead, so try to make the most of it.
