I have, for years, known that I needed to set up a budget and track my finances; so, last night, I spent some time getting Quicken set up and chatting with Bank of America and Citibank about getting my accounts Quicken enabled. Bank of America was considerably easier; they just enabled the account, Citibank on the other hand insisted on sending out a new pin, so I should have that early next week.
Hopefully this will give me an idea of how much I'm spendin vs. how much I'm bringing in; I also need to start investing - I had moved over some money do some stock investments but then got too busy with school to do that, so I need to dig up those details and get that money invested.
It feels good to finally get this in order; heck, to have the time and clarity to get it in order, at that.
I also finally went through my healthcare providers and made an appointment with one - for a general checkup, prescription renewals, and other regular checkups that I've been putting off. That appointment is 7:30am on the 17th, meh. But it'll be good to have it over with.
Life is getting itself in order. Given that I signed a 10 month lease, if I want to purchase here, then I need to start seriously considering that so I can find a place and have the time to close and do any renovations while this lease is on. However, if I want to try living in either downtown Portland, or Seattle, then I'll be renting for at least another year before I can get my real estate investments on. I'm very much looking forward to owning, but I also don't want to trap myself into something. That said, the market is favorable for buyers, so I need to account for that, too.
Life is interesting, and in a much better way than it was this time last year.
