So, I went through the HealthNet directory and chose a doctor, fairly at random, after calling a few and seeing which office I liked best.
Turns out I really like this doctor. He's young, friendly, chatty and, well, comforting. Also seems to know what he's talking about. He's going to go through testing a series of meds with me for my sleeping isses, and I have an appointment Tuesday for diabetes and cholesterol testing - 12 hour fast required first. Then he's going to refer me to a dietician. He OK'd me for exercising at the gym (my heart is fine, yay!) and gave me referrals for allergy testing and imaging (mammogram time!).
I also got a flu shot while there.
So that sorts out the long list of "to do when I finally have time" - though I still need the allergy test and mammogram, so I'll go make appointments for those today. Still, it's good to finally have a relationship with a doc in the area.
I’m surprised that you are having tests for diabeties and cholesterol - or have I missed something? Glad you like your doctor, that is important.
Well, I’m way, way overweight, so I’m going to go to a dietician - but he wants to have the numbers before I do that. This is the long path towards possibly getting surgery to help (lapband or something).
But that’s the reason. And yea, he’s great, I’m really pleased I found a good doc so quickly.
But I’m sure there’s something in a shade of grey…
Something in between…
