Here is the first set of live rock. I'm trying to go for two piles with room in between for the future fish to swim. I got lots of nice caves and pathways.
I've already found a ton of gorgeous new critters, including a huge Feather Duster and a ton of tiny feather dusters.
I ran them out of any of the decent live rock, but a new shipment is here and I'm heading out in a few minutes to pick some up. It's a 60 gallon tank, so I need about 60-75lbs of live rock, and I've got 40ish so far. I don't want this filled out, but I want a good ecosystem, and that's the "rule of thumb" - 1 to 1.5lbs of live rock per gallon of water.
Then it'll need 2-4 weeks to cycle. Then I can start slowly adding fish and corals.
Exciting!! I've already spent hours just staring at the tank. ;)
Yes, the picture on the right is a feather duster. Feather Dusters are actually worms. =)
But I’m sure there’s something in a shade of grey…
Something in between…
