Elka and service dog training.

I ordered, from ActiveDogs, a Service Dog in Training bandana, and got it today. So, Elka and I went to the bank and Walgreens, and she performed stunningly. It's so much easier to work with her when people aren't clamoring to pet her, as well. We can both stay focused then. She still needs to practice her extended down-stays, and staying focused on me in motion is a real challenge for her; if we're walking, she wants to be sniffing. But we'll get there. I may hit Fred Meyer a bit later to pick up some stuff, maybe after we go to the dog park, or right before.

We start intermediate obedience Friday as well; I'm not entirely sure we need to do that class, as I'm working with her on a good many of those concepts already. But I may learn some things and it'll be great practice for her, so we'll go anyway.

Oh, and 4th of July? She slept through most of it; the evening was the hardest, and she'd look for the source of the sound. But she seemed stress-free and we had a great time.

She is turning into an incredible dog; the transformation is absolutely unbelievable.
