Bicycling is hard, and fun!

I finally have a garage. Hence, I finally have a place to not only store my bike, but where it is easily retrievable for actual riding.

My thighs hurt!

So, here's the idea. I can't run because I have completely flat feet - that hurts, a lot. I have this bike to avoid that and still get exercise.

I have a puppy - I can't run, so I don't go fast enough to keep her going fast.

I do, however, have a bike.

Yesterday Elka and I went on 3 short bike rides around the neighborhood. We did a short bike ride again this morning. They'd be longer if I wasn't both very, very overweight and very, very unfit. Neither of those will last long with the new, advanced, Puppy Exercise Motivator™!

I've been working with Elka on loose-leash walking, and she's been great, so I felt totally comfortable holding on to her while biking. The best part is that she has to go forward, she can't stop, and she has to run, so there's no leash pulling or stopping. She gets utterly exhausted (me too) and I get time to do some work, or have some quiet time to myself. I even played WoW a bunch yesterday. Leveling a new druid on a PVP server to hang out with Chris.

The bike thing is fantastic, though. This morning, because my thighs hurt so badly, we only biked for about 10 minutes, then did a 30 minute walk. Elka is outside playing now, and she has been chasing the cats less and being, overall, far better behaved.

A tired dog is a well-behaved dog. I believe in it, so should you.

Biking with Elka is more fun than I ever imagined before, so looks like I have a new hobby. ;)

Oh, sure. Of all the servers to level on and play with someone, you had to choose that method. /sigh

No, no..of COURSE I’m not hurt. Heh! :)

BTW, we’re looking at getting me a new bicycle for summer. I sat on one and the first thing out of my mouth was that I’d be changing that seat REAL fast. Youch!

*grins* I have a 70 priest on Icecrown as well - but though she leveled on Mal’Ganis (a pvp server) and was there for two years, they still won’t let me go *back* to PVP from PVE.  Ridonkulous.  I paid my friggin’ dues. =)

What server/side are you on?

LOL - the seat.  I upgraded the seat when I bought the bike.  A nice, wide seat with super-suspension.  Though if I had to do it over again, I’d get a chopper-style bike, or even a recumbent or tricycle.  Who cares if it’s funny looking - it’d work for me. ;)

But I’m sure there’s something in a shade of grey…
Something in between…

Jake & I “grew up” on Gorgonnash - a PvP server, Horde side. When TBC came out, it was impossible to get anything done, and while I do so love PvP outside of BGs, we chose to take advantage of free server moves to PvE realms. We are now happily situated on Alleria, both Horde and Alliance side.

I have a 70 fire mage, 70 shadow priest, and 66 BM hunter on Horde side; a 70 Assassin/Sub rogue on Alliance side.

Jake has a 70 feral tanking druid, 70 warrior, and 67 MM hunter on Horde side, and a 70 feral (cat) druid on Ally side.

@ the bike conversation - I haven’t ridden a bike since I was in high school, so I forgot what a literal PITA the seats can be. LMAO.
