So I added the second batch of live rock about 10 days ago; and finally have pictures. I'm actually really happy with the setup of the live rock, the amount of caves, etc. Wouldn't mind a little more height, but this is good and I don't want to rearrange; I always do best the first time, for some reason.
I have, just two days ago, added 3 snails and 3 small hermit crabs. The tank hit its first algae bloom about 4 days ago so it was time to get the clean-up crew started. No pictures of them yet; I need a DSLR with a decent macro to get some good pictures of them. Now, too, I have something in the tank to look at.
But I did have stuff already - that feather duster is doing beautifully, and I seem to have about 10 other small feather dusters. I also have discovered at least one tube anemone. Unfortunately, there are about 10 dead copepods on the filters, but I've seen many others alive and kicking.
I'll probably add some more snails and crabs in a few days as I have more than enough food for them. I also ordered my custom hood. This hood will have 2x 250watt 15k metal halides and 2 sets of LEDs for moonlight. This will give me enough light in this tank, even though it's a bit of a taller tank than normal, to keep nearly anything I want and I'll be able to see into the tank in the evenings, too. The lighting and custom canopy should be ready in approximately 2 weeks.
Sorry that one of these pictures is fuzzy-ish, or maybe it is just my eyes. Really need to invest in a good camera since I'll be taking lots of shots of Elka, the cats, and the tank.... etc, etc, etc. Hrm.
