Ingredients
- Bread (Granary for preference)
- Pickled Onions
- Cheddar Cheese
- Worcetershire Sauce
- Butter
Process
- Slice and lightly toast the bread.
- Thinly slice the onions & cheese.
- Butter the toast, cover with a sparse layer of the sliced onions, top with the cheddar and grill until the cheese starts to melt.
- Add a few splashes of the Worcestershire Sauce and return to the grill for another minute (or until the cheese is well melted.
Variations
Add a layer of thin ham before the onions.

Ingredients
- 1¼ cup oats
- 1¼ cup flour (use wholemeal)
- 1 cup coconut
- 1 cup sultanas
- 1 cup nuts (better if broken)
- ½ cup oil
- ¼ cup sugar
- 2 dessertspoons molasses
- ½ to 1 tsp ginger
- ½ to 1 tsp cinnamon
- ½ tsp nutmeg
- Add water for consistency
Process
- Mix together all dry ingredients. Add oil. Soften molasses in a bit of hot water and add. Mix thoroughly. Press into a swiss roll tin.
- Bake at about 180° C for about 15 - 20 mins.
Variations
It is easy to change ingredients like sultanas and coconut to pumpkin seeds or something else, and to adjust the spices to your taste.
